I have applied to a lot of those, but I am not a
veteran, or whatever it takes, because I don't ever hear anything back. I know that techniy I qualify for the position

some vets complain that they're not getting
preferential treatment. i think that jobs that also contract out with the government are pretty good

agree...
Government/city jobs offer somewhat more job security than the private sector. The problem is they are sooooo than difficult to get. Here in nyc there are thousands of applicants for any one opening available, the process and the waiting lists are wayyyyy long i'm talking about years long(1 year and above) and that is if you are lucky enough to be ed, and even if you get ed you better make sure that all your life/work history is in order because they going to investigate every aspect of your of it, this is where many applicants failed and do not get hired. But what the heck i'm applying and forget about it until i get ed
