50.00 for my own background check and drug screen. That's messed up.

never heard of it, have you interviewed...
with them and meet w/someone in person? There are a lot of scam websites that take your 50.00 and there is no job. I would not do it

Yeah, and there are a lot of losers out there looking for a get rich quick plan who get offended when business owners have to charge for training. I personally had to start charging for training ($60.00) when candidate after candidate decided that the work was too "hard

Business Owner?
reaperjd, are you a business owner? Do you know the expense related to teaching people who never manage to produce? Do you know the lengths to which people go to in order to make themselves appear not to be losers? We then also get the people who demand to be taught a skill that we went to school for, demand that we pay them while we spend time training them a skill we paid to learn and then have them decide that "no...it just isn't for me." I am so sick of people thinking that I owe them something just because I was smart enough to go to college, and they were "smart" enough to go to prison

Happens all the time....
Happened with my wife twice last year with temp agencies. They required the applicant to pay for drug and background check. She paid $35 at one and $75 at the other
